Over the years Caza das Vellas Loreto has adapted
to the changing times, in a constant search for the quality, differing by the
durability and uniqueness of their products.
Before the advent of electricity were the candles that lit the dark nights. Initially they were made of reeds and cotton yarn and when burning they produced an unpleasant smell and a lot of smoke. It was with the introduction of beeswax candles that was increased durability and the smell was replaced by a delicate scent. But they were very expensive and not allowed to everyone. Today candles are made based in compounds (vegetables, animals and minerals fats) which allow a better durability.
Nowadays, at Caza das Vellas Loreto, we can find several kinds of candles, from white candles, widely used in churches, through the decorative candles, embroidered candles, scent candles and promise candles. Within the aromas, our selection goes to the lily, heather, tomato leaf, magnolia and Samarkand, but there are other flavors that are worth knowing.
